The club is a well of darkness, a claustrophobic space thick with anticipation. One spotlight falls on the center of the bare stage. A few bulky silver rings adorn his fingers; some sort of necklace hangs around his neck. His face is nearly invisible behind long, thick bangs, a curtain of hair which frames his face hanging past his shoulders nearly to his stomach, and huge, opaque wraparound sunglasses. He holds an all-black guitar, cradling it in both arms as though it is almost too much for him to carry.Black is real sensation, even if it is produced by entire absence of light. The sensation of black is distinctly different from the lack of all sensations."

No passado sábado, fizemos uma pequena homenagem ao compositor alemão Karlheinz Stockhausen, falecido no passado dia 5 de Dezembro, maltratando as seguintes obras:
Na emissão especial dedicada aos 80 anos do compositor francês Pierre Henry, cortámos, colámos, manipulámos e misturámos as seguintes obras:
D. Sebastião, um rei jovem e aventureiro, habituado a ouvir as façanhas das cruzadas e histórias de conquistas além mar, quis conquistar o Norte de África em sua luta contra os mouros. Na batalha de Alcácer Quibir no Norte de África, os portugueses foram derrotados e D. Sebastião desapareceu. E os guerreiros diziam cada um a sua historia. O desaparecimento de D. Sebastião (1557-1578) na batalha de Alcácer-Quibir, apesar da sucessão do Cardeal D. Henrique (1578-1580), deu origem a uma crise dinástica. Nas Cortes de Tomar de 1581, Filipe II de Espanha é aclamado rei, jurando os foros, privilégios e mais franquias do Reino de Portugal. Durante seis décadas Portugal ficou privado de rei natural, sob o que se tem designado por "domínio filipino".

Em 7 de Junho de 1640 eclodia também a revolta na Catalunha contra o centralismo do Conde-Duque de Olivares. O próprio Filipe IV manda apresentar-se em Madrid o duque de Bragança, para o acompanhar à Catalunha e cooperar no movimento de repressão a que ia proceder. Muitos nobres portugueses receberam semelhante convocatória. À semelhança do duque de Bragança, muitos nobres não se dispuseram a obedecer a Madrid.
Em 12 de Outubro, em casa de D. Antão de Almada, reuniram-se D. Miguel de Almeida, Francisco de Melo e seu irmão Jorge de Melo, Pedro de Mendonça Furtado, António de Saldanha e João Pinto Ribeiro. Decidiu-se então ir chamar o Duque de Bragança a Vila Viçosa para que este assumisse o seu dever de defesa da autonomia portuguesa, assumindo o Ceptro e a Coroa de Portugal.
No dia 1 de Dezembro de 1640, eclodiu por fim em Lisboa a revolta, imediatamente apoiada por muitas comunidades urbanas e concelhos rurais de todo o país, levando à instauração da Casa de Bragança no trono de Portugal. (vide more at wiki...)

Majdanek (originally Konzentrationslager Lublin) is the site of a German Nazi concentration and extermination camp, roughly 2.5 miles (four kilometers) away from the center of the Polish city Lublin. Unlike many other Nazi concentration and extermination camps, Majdanek is not hidden away in some remote forest or obscured from view by natural barriers, nor was it surrounded by a "security zone." It was established in October 1941, at Heinrich Himmler's orders, following his visit to Lublin in July 1941. Majdanek was an SS-run prisoner of war camp, under the command of Karl Otto Koch. In February 1943, it was turned into a concentration camp. The camp's name derives from a Lublin district called Majdan Tatarski, and was given it in 1941 by the locals, who were certainly aware of its existence. The original German name of the camp was "Konzentrationslager Lublin" (Concentration Camp Lublin).

Né en Argentine en 1942, son père était écrivain et sa mère la fille de Frank Higgins, Gouverneur de l’Etat de New York. Sa mère revient en France en 1947 et sa famille s’installe en Haute-Loire où Jérôme Savary poursuit sa scolarité au Collège Cévenol.
Très jeune, il part pour Paris où il étudie la musique avec Les Martenots, avec l’ambition de devenir musicien de jazz. En 1958, il entre à l’Ecole des Arts Décoratifs. A 19 ans il part pour New York où il s’immerge dans le monde du jazz et rencontre Lenny Bruce, Count Basie et Thelonious Monk.
Quand il revient en France, il intègre le monde du théâtre et les « argentins de Paris » parmi lesquels : Jorge Lavelli, Copi et Fernando Arrabal. En 1965, il fonde sa première compagnie théâtrale : la Compagnie Jérôme Savary, qui sera ensuite appelée le Grand Magic Circus, avant de devenir en 1968 le Grand Magic Circus et ses animaux tristes.
De 1982 à 1985 il est directeur du Centre Dramatique National du Languedoc-Roussillon à Béziers et Montpellier. Il est nommé par le ministre de la Culture et par la ville de Lyon directeur du Carrefour Européen du Théâtre - Théâtre du 8e de 1986 à 1988.
En 1988 il est nommé Directeur du Théâtre National de Chaillot, poste qu’il occupera jusqu’à sa nomination à l’Opéra Comique le 1er octobre 2000. (in: ThêatreOnline)

A "Máquina Preservadora" [inspiração num conto de Philip K. Dick] é um processo viral que subverte a intenção inicial de conservar a obra de arte musical num organismo animal. Uma obra de arte não pode ser conservada, mas apenas corrompida e transformada pelo Tempo que ela própria abre. O animal é uma estrutura maquinal, mas viscosa, fluida, instável, e nunca simplesmente mecânica, pelo que baralha as regras da causalidade eficiente e tende a fugir aos mecanismos do Império da Prisão de Ferro Negro. "Máquina Preservadora" é, então, o vírus que corrompe e modifica, o movimento delirante num colete-de-forças, a inversão da matemática criativa que desmultiplica o 3 do 1 em Pi, o lapso, a falha, o hiato de som a que chamamos ruído, o bip de um desfibrilador num troço de auto-estrada.
